a culminating performance by Dance Performance Workshop Level III (DPW III) featuring student & director choreography with special guest performances by BAXco Youth Dance Company
Friday & Saturday, May 17-18, 2013 @ 8:00pm
Tickets: $5 at the door
Director, DPW III, Helen Styring Tocci
This evening length performance features short works created by the advanced young dancers/choreographers of BAX’s Dance Performance Workshop (DPW), Level III. These works incorporate various modern dance techniques, ballet, acrobatics and partnering to articulately express their individual artistic voices.
In addition to individual student choreography, the evening includes a group piece, choreographed by Director Helen Tocci and the dancers, which takes a deep look into the visceral and potent moment just before you dive into the unknown. With exciting acrobatics and intimate theatrical moments, the dance explores the questions – what gives you the courage to jump and what holds you back?
The evening will also feature a special appearance by BAXco, BAX’s teen dance company. Their performance will include work by guest choreographer Monstah Black.
CATALYST is sure to make you laugh, make you think, inspire you, and perhaps even move you.
