I Laid an Egg
Have you ever had a dream that you laid an Egg? Could a little egg be an imaginary friend? I Laid an Egg is a show inspired by Margot’s dreams when she was a very little girl. Through the use of Shadow Theater, Object Theater and music Margot and Spica take you on an imaginative journey with their friends an Egg and a Baby, through Margot’s dreams. They soon discover that anything can happen in a dream.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
SPICA WOBBE (Shu-yun Cheng, co-founder) is an independent puppetry artist from Taiwan. She has worked with the Shiny Shoes Children’s Theater in Taiwan since 1991. Her work has been seen in Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Germany, Holland and the U.S. She has worked and studied with master puppeteers Damiet van Dalsum (Holland), Peter Schumann and Ralph Lee (U.S.), Albrecht Roser and Norbert Goetz (Germany). Now based in NYC, she works as a puppeteer, puppet/ mask/ scenic designer andteaching artist since she received her M.A. in Educational Theater from New York University in 2003.
MARGOT FITZSIMMONS (co-founder) is an independent puppetry artist and storyteller in NYC. Her work has been seen in Holland, Jerusalem and the United States. She has studied with master puppeteers Ralph Lee, Landis Smith (U.S.), Diego Guzman (Malaga, Spain) and Norbert Goetz (Germany). She works as a teaching artist for The New Victory Theatre, American Place Theatre, and Acting Manitou Theatre Camp where she serves as a puppet choreographer, teaching artist, producer and builder for their summer shows. Margot has taught various subjects using active learning methods. Some of her favorite locations have been Virginia working with migrant workers and their families and Uganda where she worked with Invisible Children Teacher Exchange working with youth and teachers. She is a collaborating artist with A Space Between Theater, Trusty Sidekick and Spellbound Theatre. She received a B.A. in Theater and Spanish (Dickinson College, 2004) and M.A. in Educational Theater in Colleges and Communities (NYU, 2007).
